Love of God

On our way to eternity what takes the important place in our lives? Is it the little pleasures in our life or is it the relationship with our God? It’s easy for us to fall back from our path; it’s easy to loose our focus in our lives. We are sometime driven by our emotions that are succumbed to pleasures. For a Christian pleasures are related to his ministry, I want to be like that minister or I want to be a minister who performs great miracles. It’s good to be ambitious but it is not more important than being in relationship with God? Ask yourselves “what is stopping me from coming closer to God?” or “what will stop me from coming closer to God?” Will it be the title attached to our name? Let me share it from my life, once I was also searching for a title to be attached to my name. I wanted to be pastor; I wanted to be a teacher. But that’s when this thought came to me, is it really important? Is my title more important than God himself? No! It is not! If its not important than God then why should I run behind it? I’m not trying to propagate that we do not pursue our call. We should be faithful to the God-given office in our life but that shouldn’t come between God and us! or let me make it simple with this question- “What will stop us from being in relationship with God?” In Romans 8:38&39 Apostle Paul says nothing can separate us from the love of God. Just think if that love is so strong why is that we are running behind things that don’t matter? If you study the word ‘separate’ it will reveal the awesomeness of the love of God.

Separate- it means to keep apart or divide, as by an intervening barrier or space. Just think about it, between the love of God and us there is nothing. It’s seamless! A continuous flow, it never breaks in between. Now think about ‘my ambitions’, is it separating you from the love of God? Don’t you think that first and foremost our commitment should be Christ? Everything else follows after Christ. Just think about this, for whom are you working for today? Is it for your church or are you working for yourself, as mean to fill your spiritual emptiness? Love towards God should overcome all our desires. It should be one pure passion in our lives.
